We’ve made it convenient for you to get a head start on building the perfect look for your big event! You can customize your look with all our rental options, save your selections, and bring them into the store when you visit us to get measured and place your order.
PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to create an account or log-in to order or customize your tux. Merely use this “build a tux” tool to view and make selections to save time in-store and avoid the crowds. We encourage you to visit our store for the most personal experience.
STEP 1: Read the instructions on this page to make your selections.
STEP 2: Save your selections either using EMAIL or SCREENSHOT as explained below.
STEP 3: Come to the store to match any swatches (if necessary) and have a member of our staff measure you to place your order.
Payment must be made when the order is placed.
1. If you are looking for a specific tux color or fit, change the view options using the filters just above the pictures where it says “FILTER BY”.
2. As you click on the tux images, the image on the left of the screen models your selections
3. After you select your suit or tux, you can move on by using the sections in the blue bar above the suit images to move to the next sections to choose shirt, ties, shoes, etc. Because computer images may not accurately reflect true color for ties and vests, we recommend bringing your swatches in to match against the swatches in our swatch book if trying to match a dress or other garment.
4. Once you arrive at your selections, there are two ways to get your selections to us; either by EMAIL or SCREENSHOT
BY EMAIL: Click the share icon next to the tux image and email it to yourself. The link in the email will detail the selections you made so you can bring them to us when you place your order and get measured.
By SCREENSHOT: When finished with your selections, click “COMPLETE” on the right side of the blue bar above the images. This shows you the ensemble details. Take a screenshot and bring the screenshot in when you come in to get measured and place your order. Be sure to capture the image and the ensemble details in your screenshot.
DUE TO PROGRAMMING BY THE FORMAL WEAR VENDOR, THE PRICES WHICH APPEAR ON THE SCREEN AS YOU BUILD YOUR TUX MAY NOT BE A TRUE REFLECTION OF THE FINAL PRICE. WE WILL PROVIDE EXACT COSTS WHEN YOU VISIT US IN PERSON WITH YOUR SELECTIONS.
When should I order my tuxedo?
We recommend 4 weeks before your event, 10 to 14 days minimum
When do I pay for my tuxedo?
When you come in to get measured and place your order, you can either make a $50 deposit or pay it completely.
When will my tuxedo arrive at the store?
Typically they arrive on the Monday or Tuesday of the week of the event. When it arrives, you will receive a text message from Modern Men’s Wear.
When should I come in to try on my tuxedo?
Come in no later than the Tuesday of the week of your event; If for some reason you need a different size coat or pant, this allows enough time to get a replacement before the event.
Are refunds allowed?
Due to the high demand for tuxedos during Prom season, no refunds are permitted by the tuxedo company once your items have been ordered during April and May.
